Italica Imports Debuts Imported Lines

Italica Imports, one of the leading producers and distributors of Spanish olive oil in the United States, introduced two new olive product lines. Italica is now certified organic, and has created their own line of organic olives. They are also introducing two varieties of extra large imported Kalamata olives. These new product lines will be available for distribution and sale as Italica brand or as your store brand.

Under the new label, Italica Organics, the company’s line of organic olives will include three varieties of whole, imported organic olives — Green Empeltre, Giant Green and Green Manzanilla. Each olive variety is a true organic product, and extremely well priced. All are packaged in 8 oz. glass jars and are priced just above standard green olives. In fact, Italica’s Organic olives can retail at 50 percent below other organic specialty olives.

All of Italica’s Organic olives are grown in the district of Olivares San Nicolas in Argentina. The Green Empeltre olives are a variety from Zaragoza, Spain. The fruit is long with an asymmetric shape that is slightly curved at the back. It has a firm pulp and pleasant, soft flavor. In addition to being superior eating olives, Green Empeltre olives produce great quality olive oil. Italica’s Giant Green olives, also known as Manzanilla Reina olives, are medium to large in size and have an oval shape. Meaty and juicy, their strong, spicy flavor is excellent for salads. The Green Manzanilla olives are originally from Dos Hermanas in Sevilla, Spain. These olives are medium-sized, rounded or oval with a shape similar to an apple, golden green with a fruity taste. Its size is medium, golden green, with fruity taste. This variety has the most elegant and finest texture among olives and is the most well known green olive variety.

In addition to the new Italica Organics line, the company is also introducing two varieties of Kalamata olives grown in Greece. This popular variety of imported olive will be available as Whole Extra Large Kalamata Olives in a 11.3-ounce glass jar or as Pitted Extra Large Kalamata Olives in a 7-ounce glass jar.
